What is "Archaeological dreams?"

It is a series focused on the lives of a group of young students who become archaeologists while excavating in a Roman city for 20 days. The site is located in an uninhabited place in the island of Menorca (Spain).

14 participants were the protagonists who became part of the scientific team, most of them coming from North America. They represented more than the 400 students who have excavated in the Port of Sanitja during the past few years.

The student starts from scratch. He/she has not got any experience at all. He/she has never participated in a dig before and does not know what kind of objects can be found. Day after day he/she starts familiarizing himself/herself with the world that surrounds the excavation, and ends up understanding the process which is necessary to follow in order to interpret and reconstruct the Past of the place that he/she is investigating.

The investigation takes place at the Roman city of Sanisera, which was founded in 123 B.C. and is located in the best natural port of the northern coast of Menorca. It was occupied for more than 500 years and could have had a population of approximately 1000 inhabitants. To excavate the entire city would take more than 100 years. [Read more]
