What is "Archaeological dreams?"
It is a five-part miniseries that focuses on the life of students who are learning about Underwater Archaeology in the Roman port of Sanitja during 14 days.
The Ecomuseum of Cap de Cavalleria carries out an Underwater Archaeology project in Cavalleria Cape and the Port of Sanitja because the area is rich in archaeological remains dating from different periods.
The first time men arrived to this place was in 123 a.C. during the Roman period. Romans founded a city which was later on inhabited by Muslims in the Medieval Period. In more recent times, when Menorca was occupied by British around 1800, their army settled in this port. Later on, in 1848 a lighthouse was built due to the frequency of wrecks taking place on the northern coast of Menorca.
7 participants were the protagonists who became part of the scientific team, most of them coming from North America. They represent those 600 students who have participated in this Field School in the Port of Sanitja during the past few years. In 2011 a total of 197 students participated in the Field School, 57 of them being underwater students.
